Friday, 21 March 2025
- Free Practice 1: P15, 1:33.145, 26 laps
- Sprint Qualifying: P13, 1:32.325, 10 laps

  • Carlos Sainz set the thirteenth fastest time in the Sprint Qualifying of the Chinese GP in a day that didn’t prove easy for the Williams race driver.
  • The Spanish driver made the cut in SQ1 (1:32.457), but in SQ2 he was only able to find a tenth (1:32.325) following the balance issues that he had been suffering since the early morning.
  • Carlos will be able to work again on the set-up of his car after Saturday’s Sprint. He is confident he can make a step forward and fight for points in Sunday’s Grand Prix.

QUOTES:
“I’ve struggled all day with the balance and both sessions have been quite tough. In Sprint Qualy we had a few issues, including a weird feeling with the seat that we’ll look into, but overall it comes down to me still not feeling at home in the car. I still have to learn and understand many things about it and I know with more mileage it will come. Hopefully tomorrow we can put everything together and improve today’s result for Sunday".

COMING UP:
