• Carlos Sainz finished fifth in a Chinese GP where two Safety-Car periods changed the development of the race.
• Seventh in the Starting Grid, the Ferrari race driver found himself in ninth place after lots of fighting in the first corners.
• Carlos performed his one and only pit-stop on Lap 18, when he was eight, and switched to a Hard tyre that he kept alive until the end of the race.
• The Safety-Car, which appeared twice, allowed for a one-stop strategy, which Carlos executed flawlessly to recover three places and finish the race in fifth position.

“A tough race on a challenging track for us this weekend. The first few corners were far from ideal and then with the traffic we decided to pit early to switch to the Hard tyres. Some laps later, under the safety car, we stayed out on that tyre and went to the end to finish fifth. In any case, we struggled more than expected overall and the result today is not what we wanted. We will review everything before going to Miami, where I’m confident we can return to the form we showed in the previous weekends".
