- Carlos Sainz is set for a comeback drive at the Hungarian GP after missing out on Q3 for the first time in 33 races, since the 2021 Saudi Arabian GP.
- The Spanish race driver made it through Q1 (1:18.393) on the Hard tyre, as stipulated by the new Qualifying format that came into play this weekend.
- The Medium tyre in Q2 (1:17.703), though, didn’t offer the expected result and in the end he missed the last round by only two-thousandths of a second.
QUOTES:
"Not happy to miss out on Q3 for the first time this year by only two thousands. I haven’t been comfortable with the Medium compound all weekend and I paid the price today, at the tightest Quali of the season so far".
"It won’t be easy tomorrow with the traffic and the high degradation, but we’ll try everything to overtake and gain positions to bring home some good points.”
