Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz, just outside of Q2 in the Dutch GP

Saturday, 22 August 2026:

- Sprint: P20, 23 laps

- Qualifying: P17, 1:13.574, 10 laps

  • Carlos Sainz achieved the seventeenth-fastest time in the Qualifying session of the Dutch GP, where he confirmed that his car has made a step forward since the issues experienced on Friday.
  • The Williams race driver missed Q2 by just 22 milliseconds, compromised by a third sector where he ran out of energy on his battery earlier than expected.
  • The Spanish driver will try his best in a tough Grand Prix where overtaking is set to be difficult, as seen earlier today in the Sprint.

QUOTES:

Sprint weekends don’t leave much time to root out problems and we used the Sprint Race pretty much as a practice session, where we tried different things to improve the balance. This afternoon the car was feeling better and the changes we’ve done made it more comfortable to drive. My lap felt decent and we missed out on Q2 by a very thin margin".

"Tomorrow we’ll try our best to put everything together and execute a clean race to extract the maximum of our car and see where that takes us".
