Friday, 21 October 2022
-    Free Practice 1: P1, 1:36.857, 19 laps
-    Free Practice 2: P4, 1:38.232, 26 laps

  • Carlos set the tone in the first practice session of the United States GP, which was more important than usual given that Free Practice 2 was dedicated to performing testing duties for Pirelli.
  • The Ferrari driver used two new sets of Soft tyres in Free Practice 1. He set the fastest time of the morning session (1:36.857) on the latter.
  • In Free Practice 2, the Spaniard covered 26 laps in a test designed by Pirelli to assess the 2023 tyres.

QUOTES:
“A different Friday here in Austin. In FP1 we managed to complete our program but FP2 was fixed to Pirelli test, so it was one hour and a half of trying next year’s tyres without changing the set up of the car. This also means tomorrow’s FP3 will be even more important than usual ahead of Qualy”.

“Overall we have been relatively competitive today so are confident going into tomorrow".
