- Carlos was among the fastest drivers on the first day of practice in the Saudi Arabian GP, in which he was able to complete his run plan without any issues.
- Following some set-up changes in his Williams, he was able to improve significantly in Free Practice 2 as he put together his short stint on Soft tyres, which took place in night conditions that resembled those that he will encounter both in Qualifying and the race itself.
- Competitiveness is at its peak, and tomorrow there will be a very tough battle in the Qualifying session: today, three-tenths of a second was the difference between finishing fifth or fourteenth.
QUOTES:
"A positive first day for us here in Jeddah. We’ve made some good steps forward from FP1 to FP2, trying some different things with the set-up and my driving style to try to extract more from the car. The lap on the Soft tyre was proof of those steps and, although it’s only Friday, the feeling around this tricky track was positive overall. Let’s see if we can keep it up tomorrow!".
