Canadian GP, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (4,361 meters, 14 corners, in the calendar since 1978)
- Carlos Sainz heads to the Canadian GP with the goal in mind of scoring important points.
- The Williams race driver made the most of his free week and took part in a roadshow in front of over 80,000 people in the Madring circuit, the track that will host the Spanish GP from 2026 onwards.
- In theory, the characteristics of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve suit the strengths of the FW47, so the Grove-based team expects a step forward in performance in comparison to the last race in Barcelona.
- Carlos’ best result to date in Canada is a second place in 2022.
QUOTES:
“Despite it being a busy few weeks with the triple header ending in Barcelona followed by the roadshow in Madrid last Saturday, I feel recharged and excited to head to Canada for what I hope will be a positive weekend! Canada is always a fun circuit to drive with many overtaking opportunities, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can do with the FW47 around this circuit! The weather always plays a huge part in Montreal with unpredictable conditions, so we’ll make the most of all the opportunities we can and push flat out all weekend".
