Long and short run simulations for Carlos Sainz ahead of Qualifying

Normal session, although he found traffic in his best lap

Barcelona, May 14th 2016.- The third and final free practice session for the Spanish GP finished with Carlos Sainz on the 13th position. The driver from Scuderia Toro Rosso completed his program without any issues and was one of the most active drivers of the morning in the preparations ahead of the Qualifying session.

Carlos started today's work on the medium tyres, a compound in which he completed a long run to simulate race conditions. He did 15 laps on them, always setting constant times near the 1'29"5 mark.

As soon as he returned to the Pit-Lane, the team prepared his car for a simulation on low fuel and soft tyres, the ones he'll be using this afternoon in Qualifying. Sadly he found himself in traffic during his fast lap, so he ended up P13.

Conclusion is that the fight to make it to Q3 will be very tight in this Grand Prix, so Q2 will be a thrilling round. Carlos also received the support of his fans from the 'CarlosSainz55 Grandstand', in which 1.500 fans wore his t-shirt and the official Toro Rosso cap to cheer for his driver.

Qualifying for the Spanish GP will commence at 14:00 and shortly after its ending Carlos will visit the grandstand of his fans -Tribune G, at the stadium zone- to share a minutes with them and thank them for their support. That will be at 3:40pm, don't miss it!
