Very productive days for the team and 68 laps for the Spaniard

Sakhir, April 19th 2017.- Carlos Sainz was the man in charge of driving the Toro Rosso STR12 in the closing hours of Day 2 of post-race testing in Bahrain. The Spaniard completed 68 laps. His teammate Daniil Kvyat did 61 in the morning session. Combined, the team has gathered 129 laps (698 kilometers) of experience.
The Faenza-based team had already enjoyed a positive day yesterday. Today was a productive day at work, with no remarkable issues. Carlos focused on the aerodynamics of his car, before testing mechanical parts and completing a short program that revolved around the tyres. According to Jody Egginton, Head of Vehicle Performance, the team found new positive directions set-up wise that should open new possibilities for the upcoming rounds of the Championship.

Carlos feels quite optimistic with the work done by his team in these tests. "I think we can be very happy with how this test went, both yesterday with Sean and today with Daniil and myself – to have two clean days and be able to test many parts was just what we needed. I'd like to thank the team and Renault, as it's been very useful. Overall, I end a positive day with very good feelings and lots of things learned. I now look forward to the next race weekend in Russia!", he concludes.

Carlos will travel back to London to spend a few days in the Red Bull headquarters, where he will do simulator work before going to Sochi for the next round in the calendar, the Russian Grand Prix.
