Carlos Sainz to start tenth in Bahrain GP: “We will have to watch out to gain places”

  • Carlos makes it again to Q3, despite not finding the optimum balance for his Renault R.S. 18 on supersoft tyres.
  • He keeps his options wide open going into the race, where he will try to seize the long-run pace he showed on Friday.

"I’ve been trying to find the best balance throughout the weekend, but I didn’t feel 100% comfortable in Qualifying, so it was difficult to find the perfect lap tonight".

"Yesterday I felt the car was more balanced in the long runs, so I’m confident that we can make some progress in the race. Yesterday’s simulations were pretty much as tight as today’s Qualifying, so we will have to watch out to try and gain some positions”.

"I think pretty much everyone will go for a two-stop strategy. There is more tyre-wear than in other circuits and everything can happen in a two-stop race".

The Bahrain Grand Prix will start tomorrow at 18:10 local time (17:10 Spanish time). As always, you will be able to follow Carlos via his social media channels and his official website www.carlossainz.es.
