Turkish GP – 13th-15th November 2020
Istanbul Park (5,338 meters, 14 corners, in the calendar since 2005)
- The Turkish GP returns to the Formula 1 calendar for the first time since 2011. The race was a last-minute addition to the 2020 Championship following the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Carlos Sainz has never raced at the Istanbul Park, but is determined to carry on the good momentum he gained two weeks ago at the Emilia Romagna GP.
"Istanbul Park is quite an impressive track. It is wide, fast, slippery… an interesting challenge both for drivers and teams alike. The elevation changes are quite surprising, because when you watch old races on TV you don’t really get to see them in all their glory. We know that the tarmac is likely to play again a major role, just as it did in Portimao, where we all struggled to warm-up the tyres".
"The season is getting tighter by the minute and now there are only four races to go. The third place of the Constructors’ Championship is important. We know that both Renault and Racing Point were fast in the previous races, so we will have to give our very best. I think we can have a great season finale. We are in a good streak and we want to wrap-up the year the best way we can".
