• Carlos Sainz was the fastest driver in the second day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, in which he ran in the afternoon session. He was the first driver to lap under 1:30.
• The Ferrari race driver completed the run plan without any issues, although the schedule of the session was altered following an issue with a loose drain cover. It hit the floor of the SF-23, forcing its replacement.
• The Spaniard worked on his car with the C3 tyre compound. Afterwards, he tested the C4 for the very first time and he covered both short stints and high fuel runs. Later, under the lights, he covered a full race simulation.

We managed to go through the whole afternoon programme smoothly, combining various tests with low and high fuel runs, so it was interesting to get a feel for this year’s car in different configurations.
