The driver of Scuderia Toro Rosso, within the Top 10 in all three practice sessions
Francorchamps, August 26th 2017.- Carlos Sainz finished ninth in the third and final Free Practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix. The Spaniard of Scuderia Toro Rosso completed 18 laps in total. His best lap-time, 1:45.942, was two seconds short from the leader but very close to the top of the midfield battle.
Rain respected Spa-Francorchamps from the green flag to the chequered. Teams could prepare for Qualifying in optimum conditions. The track was wet in the early stages, but it dried up quickly and didn’t compromise the work of the drivers.
Carlos waited a few minutes before starting his day. He did so on supersoft tyres. He completed 13 laps on them across two stints of five and eight laps respectively. His fastest lap-time on the red compound was 1:47.278.
With ten minutes to go, the Spaniard joined the track on ultrasoft tyres to perform a Qualifying run. After two warm-up laps, he stopped the clock at 1:45.942 to move up to ninth in the time-sheets.
The Belgian Grand Prix will continue this afternoon with Qualifying session coming up at 14:00 local time. As always, we will keep you updated about Carlos’ progress via his official website www.carlosainz.es and our Twitter account @carlosainzinfo.
