Carlos Sainz sets his sights on Melbourne, announces own grandstand for the Spanish GP

The Renault Sport F1 Team Spaniard also launched his brand-new official website

Madrid, 15th March 2018.- Carlos Sainz gathered all the Spanish press for a press conference with sponsor Estrella Galicia 0,0, in which the Spaniard discussed the beginning of 2018 Formula 1 season. The driver of Renault Sport F1 Team, who also launched his brand-new official website, is ready to travel to Australia for the opening race on the calendar.

The event was held at the Carlos Sainz Center Las Rozas, in Madrid, where the driver talked about the challenges that he will be facing this year. After winter practice comes competition and the 2018 World Championship will begin in nine days’ time.

Carlos was positive when discussing winter testing. “I prepared a lot for this preseason. I even changed my training routines to adapt myself better to the car. The team did a massive job throughout the winter and we were able to complete a lot of mileage in testing. We are happy with our progresses and with what we saw during the test days. We have many things still to adjust, but the atmosphere is positive and we are all looking forward to Australia.

He has very good prospects for the season. “The goal for this year is to close the gap to the top teams as much as possible. The mid-field looks very packed once again, but I am convinced that Renault has the potential to move further up. Renault has shown its ambition to improve and get to the top of that mid-field, so it can move closer to the teams ahead.

Carlos also launched his very own grandstand for the Spanish Grand Prix, which will be held from the 11th of May to the 13th.
