Carlos Sainz, cautious ahead of the Russian GP: "I don’t want to make any predictions"

Russian GP, 25th-27th September 2020

Sochi Autodrom (5,848 meters long, 19 corners, in the calendar since 2014)

  • Carlos Sainz will race this weekend in Sochi, a circuit where he put together a perfect performance last year: sixth in Qualifying, sixth in the race.
  • The Spaniard of McLaren moves on following the crash that happened in Mugello, even though he will go through the incident on Friday during the briefing with the Race Director.

"I don’t want to make predictions ahead of this weekend, because in the past few weekends our performance wasn’t always as we expected. This Friday we will introduce a few upgrades on the MCL35, so our first task ahead will be testing them and figuring whether they make us go faster".

"Even though I haven’t scored points in several races, we are the third best team in the Constructors’ Championship. We will work hard to keep us ahead of our competitors, because they won’t make our life easy at all. I have a couple doubts regarding the incident that happened in Mugello during the restart, so this Friday’s briefing will be a good opportunity to solve them and make sure that it doesn’t happen again".
