- Race: P3, 50 laps
- Carlos scored his third consecutive podium in a row and the second of the 2022 season at the Saudi Arabian GP, where he finished the race in third place.
- The Ferrari driver dropped to fourth at the start, but then returned to the podium after pitting under a Virtual Safety-Car period.
- The Spaniard left the Pit-Lane in front of Sergio Pérez, but his rival overtook him under the Safety-Car and didn’t give the position back until the restart. This impeded Carlos from attacking Max Verstappen for second place.
QUOTES:
“I had a very good launch at the start but I ran out of space on the right and Max got better traction in the inside line".
“From there it was quite straightforward. However, I don’t understand why I wasn’t given the position back behind the Safety Car when it was clear I was ahead of Checo exiting from the pitlane. It didn’t give me the chance to fight for P2 at the restart, but it is what it is".
“P3 is a good result and overall this has been a fairly positive weekend, definitely better than one week ago in Bahrain. I feel we are going in the right direction with this car and it’s just a matter of time we are fighting a bit further up. I’m sure. We have a clearer picture of where and what we need to improve and we have a direction to follow. Can’t wait to go to Australia after two years without racing there".
