- Race: P1, 52 laps
- Carlos topped his first pole position with his maiden Formula 1 victory to wrap-up a weekend for the history books in Silverstone.
- After a crash at the start and a one-hour red flag period, the Spaniard led the race until Lap 9. He reclaimed the lead moments later when Max Verstappen suffered a puncture.
- Carlos pitted from the lead on Lap 20 to switch to the Hard tyre, but during the second stint he received the message that he had to save fuel.
- On Lap 39, the Spaniard capitalized a Safety-Car period as he switched to the Soft tyres and overtook his teammate at the restart.
- This is Carlos’ first victory in Formula 1 and he now moves up to fourth in the Drivers’ Championship.

“Mentally it was one of the toughest races I’ve done: managing the gaps, lots of fights on track, the second start. We struggled a bit with understeer and on the second stint I was told to save fuel if I wanted to make to the end, so the lift and coast put me at risk from the cars behind".
“However, as soon as the Safety Car came out, we knew it was paramount to change the tyre as mine were pretty old. At the restart, I had fresher tyres but we were fighting for 1-2 as a team, so I tried to be as clean as possible in overtaking Charles. Thanks to the fuel saved behind the Safety Car I could then push until the end and finally got my fist win. I will enjoy for today but we’ll immediately start working on preparing the next race in Austria".
