Carlos Sainz, eighth at the Starting Grid of the Hungarian GP

  • For the very first time this weekend, sun and hot at the Hungaroring
  • The Spaniard of McLaren improved the new set-up of his car together with his engineers throughout the session to make Q3 and clinch the eighth spot of the Starting Grid.
  • The race pace will be one of the challenges waiting for Carlos on Sunday, since he hasn’t done any long runs because of the reliability issue in Free Practice 1.

QUOTES:

"Today is a positive day for the team. Coming into the weekend we were not so sure about the performance in this track, but we managed to take the right decisions with the set-up and we put both cars in Q3 in a difficult circuit".

"I had balance issues in my car in the beginning, but we managed to steadily solve them and we put a good lap when it mattered the post. Maybe we were lacking ab it of pace to get everything perfect, but it is not a bad result considering the expectations we had coming into Hungary. The starting position is very important. We now head to the race with some unknowns, because yesterday we didn’t do any long runs because of the reliability issue in Free Practice 1 and the rain".
