Qatar GP, Lusail International Circuit (5,419 meters, 16 corners, in the calendar since 2021)
- Carlos Sainz heads to the penultimate race of the season and the last Sprint weekend of the calendar feeling fully determined after scoring a great fifth place in the Las Vegas GP, which transformed into 10 very valuable points.
- In Qatar he pursues two goals: scoring points to strengthen Williams’ fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship and, at the same time, continue climbing up in the Drivers’, where Carlos is only three points short from ninth place.
- The Lusail International Circuit combines a one-kilometer main straight with multiple medium and high speed turns that make it a very dynamic racetrack. Carlos’ best result to date here is a sixth place in 2024.
QUOTES:
"It’s great to leave Vegas with some solid points after what ended up being P5, so we’ll try to carry this momentum into Qatar. Being a Sprint weekend, we’ll need to jump straight into it and given this track doesn’t typically suit our car and can be quite tricky for us, it’s not going to be easy. Still, we’ve made some good learnings from the last few races that we can apply straight away and hopefully mitigate our weaknesses. We’ll try maximising any opportunities we get and continue this triple-header strong!".
