He will start from the clean side of the track and on the same tyres as the leading cars
- Excellent Qualifying for Carlos, who worked intensely with his engineers to improve the set-up of the R.S.18 and made it to Q3 once again.
- He set his Q2 time on soft tyres, and as such he will start the race on the same strategy as the leaders.
- After the session he visited his very own grandstand to greet his fans
"I am happy with today’s Qualifying and I would like to thank them for changing the car completely. Our opponents are really strong in this track, but we worked very hard last night and we managed to get back to where we deserve to be".
"Temperatures were slightly cooler than yesterday and that enables the R.S.18 to perform a little bit better, but the most important thing was to be on the right tyre at the right time. I set a reference time in the early stages of Q2 and then we switched to softs, managing to improve just as the leaders did. In Q3 I was again on supersofts and we managed to set the ninth fastest time".
The Spanish Grand Prix will begin tomorrow Sunday at 15:10 Spanish time. You can follow Carlos via his social media channels and his official website, www.carlossainz.es.
