- The Spaniard keeps his streak alive as he achieves Q3 for the seventh time this year. He hasn’t missed one so far this season. Only six cars haven’t.
- His mechanics made a last-minute fix before Qualifying on the turbocharger of his power-unit, since it had been damaged by an external element that had come through the admission.
"Our car is one of the few ones that has made it to all Q3 sessions this season and that is positive news. Today I felt well straightaway from Q2. In Q3 I was fast in the first two sectors, but to be further up maybe we lacked a tenth in the last one. Now we will draw our conclusions and prepare for the race".
"After Free Practice 3 I already knew that I had good pace. Then came an issue in the turbocharger and it was crucial to fix the car. Up to 18 mechanics worked on my car shortly before the session. They all focused on my car to solve the issue and I am really thankful. Today more than ever, this Q3 wouldn’t have been possible without them".
"Tomorrow we will go for it. We will be starting from ninth and we must see how the different strategies unfold. Starting on the hypersoft tyre, I think we can expect a tough race. But I am optimistic".
