The Spaniard is ready for the Qualifying session
Sao Paulo, November 11th 2017.- The third and final Free Practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix was very productive for Carlos Sainz, who finished tenth with a fastest lap of 1:10.599. The Spaniard of Renault Sport F1 Team improved with each lap and finished 144 milliseconds behind his teammate.
The track was wet at the start of the session, but it dried-up pretty quickly and drivers were able to run as usual. Temperatures were colder than yesterday, with an air temperature of 19ºC and the track at 26ºC.
Carlos completed his first laps on the medium tyre, completing three installation laps. As soon as the checks were done, and after a Virtual Safety-Car period, the Spaniard picked-up a set of the supersoft compound to complete an eight-lap stint, stopping the clock at 1:10.823.
After a short stay in the pits, Carlos completed another seven laps on the very same set of tyres. He didn’t improve his pace, but he was able to work on his set-up. He began with a 1:10.702 lap to become the fastest Renault on-track at the moment. He would then improve to 1:10.599 to finish tenth, a positive result ahead of this afternoon’s Qualifying.
Qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix will begin at 14:00 local time (17:00 Spanish time). As always, we will keep you updated on Carlos via his official website www.carlosainz.es and our Twitter account @carlosainzinfo.
