Rain compromises Friday practice in the Australian GPFriday, 31 March 2023
- Free Practice 1: P6, 1:19.505, 20 laps
- Free Practice 2: P5, 1:19.695, 12 laps
- Productive Free Practice 1 for Carlos Sainz with not too much mileage in the afternoon session, where the rain prevented him from following his run plan.
- After studying the Hard tyre in Free Practice 1, where he also ran on the Soft, he set his fastest time in Free Practice 2 in the Medium compound. He later tested the Soft option, but by then the rain had already arrived.
- In the short space of time of Free Practice 2 where there was dry running, Carlos felt good. He couldn't set a representative lap-time due to the traffic on track.

"This Friday was a bit compromised by the rain in FP2, so we decided not to do many laps in the rain, choosing instead to start preparing everything for tomorrow. On the other hand, FP1 was very useful for the team. We went through very different set-up configurations trying to improve the feeling with the car and to get to understand the current package a bit more. We are pushing hard to maximise everything and I look forward to the rest of the weekend".
