- Free Practice 1: P1, 1:19.806, 24 laps
- Free Practice 2: P3, 1:19.376, 27 laps
- Carlos worked with three tyre compounds available for this weekend, clocking 17 laps on the Hard tyre in Free Practice 1 and 19 on the Medium one in Free Practice 2.
- The Spaniard of Ferrari felt comfortable straightaway. In fact, already in Free Practice 1 (1:19.806), he improved the Pole Position of 2019 thanks to the changes that have made the track faster.
- The two steps between the Hard tyre (C3) and the Soft option (C5) pose an additional challenge when designing the perfect strategy for this Sunday’s race.

“It has been an interesting Friday as we had to deal with a lot of new things compared to the last time that we raced here. The track is completely different from what it used to be: it’s definitely faster and the new tarmac feels totally different in terms of grip from what I remembered. We need to keep working on understanding how the tyres behave but, in general, I think we have a good baseline to start preparing the qualifying of tomorrow".
