Positive Friday for Carlos Sainz at the Bahrain GP

  • Good feeling with the MCL34 in a changing track, both in the late afternoon and the night hours.
  • His Qualifying run was not a perfect one, so his 1:30.192 lap in Free Practice 2 is not a true reflection of the potential of Carlos and his MCL34.
  • The Spaniard performed long runs at the end of the session to call it a day with 33 laps in total, including a productive race simulation with good pace.

"It was a good day. We went through my run-plan and I have a positive feeling. I feel quite comfortable in the car and I believe we have learned what we need for tomorrow.  My flying lap was not perfect; I could have improved a couple things. We will try to put it all together tomorrow".

"The car responds to the track and set-up changes as we expected, so I am happy. Tomorrow we will fight to score the best possible result".
