- Carlos completed 44 laps and set the fifth fastest time overall (1:05.545) in a session with two red flags and several crashes.
- As it was the case in the morning session, the Spaniard of McLaren was once again the fastest driver behind the three leading teams.
- Carlos showcased a good race pace and worked through the three tyre compounds. He also ran on the softest one, since he doesn’t have to save it for Qualifying because he has a grid penalty for changing the engine.
QUOTES:
"Today was a good Friday. I am surprised, because my lap was not clean but I still finished fifth. It disappoints me a bit to know that I have a penalty, because I feel comfortable and we are getting a good feeling out there, but we will still work as much as we can to put a good performance in the race".
"Regarding this Sunday, we will have to analyse the three tyres that we tested today. It is not as clear as it was in Paul Ricard that the soft compound is bad for the race, so we will have to evaluate all the possible scenarios. We are up for an intense afternoon with the team, and then on Saturday we will work to try and fight back on Sunday".
