Carlos will drive the SF21 again tomorrow in the final day of testing
Sakhir, March 13th 2021.- Carlos Sainz completed 56 laps in day two of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit, where the driver of Scuderia Ferrari got behind the wheel in the morning hours as he adjusted himself to the Ferrari SF21 and worked on its set-up.
After a windy and hazy Friday, the weather improved on Saturday and Carlos was able to work in better conditions. His fastest lap, 1:31.072, was on the C3 tyre, although it is still not representative of the true speed of the car. He finished thirteenth in the standings, but mainly he completed the team’s run plan and covered almost the same mileage than in the first day.
The Spanish driver also ran on the C2 compound and Pirelli’s prototype tyre, which is a C3 compound produced in a different factory than the common one. C1 is the hardest option available and C5 is the softest one.
Pre-season testing will come to an end tomorrow with the third and final day of track activity. Carlos will drive in the afternoon session, therefore he will be the last one to get behind the wheel of the SF21 before the Championship starts in two weeks' time in this track.
