Carlos Sainz, eager for the Azerbaijan GP to start

He has worked together with his team to carry on the development of the R.S.18

Baku, 26th April 2018.- Carlos Sainz has arrived at the city of Baku, whose streets will host this weekend the fourth event of the season and the last race before the European leg: The Azerbaijan GP.

Carlos lands at the land of fire –as Azerbaijan is known- after being ninth in the Chinese GP.

Tyres available for the weekend are the soft, supersoft and ultrasoft compounds. Carlos will have two sets of the yellow one, four of the red-one and seven of the purple, an identical tyre allocation as his teammate’s.

The Spaniard emphasized the work he has done together with his team to improve his feeling at the wheel of the R.S.18.

“I am really looking forward to driving tomorrow, because we have worked to improve on the little details and I am confident that we are moving in the right direction”.

“The first few races have been positive and the team is giving it all to accomplish its goals. We have to carry on with this evolution and score as many points as possible”.

Talking about the Baku City Circuit, he said:

“It is difficult to compare Baku to city circuits like the ones in Monaco or Singapore, or any other street-track at all. It is a very demanding circuit and you pay a price for your mistakes. You have to be focused throughout the weekend. Maybe that’s why we see thrilling races like the one from last year”.

The Azerbaijan GP will begin on Friday with Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2, which will commence at 13:00 and 17:00 local time (11:00 and 15:00 Spanish time). As always, you will be able to follow Carlos via his Social Media channels and his official web-page www.carlossainz.es.
