The Spanish driver will held his first race for the Formula 1 World Championship in the Albert Park Circuit with Scuderia Toro Rosso
Carlos Sainz held this weekend his first race in the Albert Park Circuit for the Formula 1 World Championship. The Australian track is the first race of the season and will represent the debut for the Spanish as official driver with Scuderia Toro Rosso. Carlos Sainz made his debut with the STR10 in the test held at Jerez on 1st February, driving a total of 2,700 kilometers and 589 laps. Those days he was preparing the pre-season at Jerez and Montmeló.
Carlos Sainz: "I have never been to Australia, so I am really looking forward to my first visit to the country and the city of Melbourne, because everyone has told me a lot of good things about it. I have never seen the track before, which is partly a street circuit, so, as a rookie; I think it is likely to be tough. It will also be the biggest time change I have ever experienced, so I will be heading out there nice and early to deal with any potential jet lag. Overall, I am really excited about these new experiences, particularly the fact it will be my first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix".
