- Carlos finishes the day in the chasing group with plenty to fight for on Saturday
- He completed 35 laps in the 90-minute practice session
- His longest stint, 11 laps on the ultrasoft tyre
- He ran on ultrasofts and softs, with very low tyre-wear in both cases.
“It’s been a fairly calm, straight forward day. To have that kind of Practices on the first Friday of the season is exactly what we want so we can be positive about the day in general. About the pace, I’m not so sure, the midfield is gonna be extremely tight as we see, and then we need to work in getting that ultrasoft to work a bit better as today I was very fast with the soft but with the ultra we just didn’t put a clean lap today”.
“The conditions today were great, it was an ideal day of Melbourne. I think tomorrow is gonna be different to today, so probably a bit worthless of what we did today but it was still useful to know more about the car and the track”.
