British GP, 31st July-2nd August of 2020
Silverstone, (5,891 metres, 18 corners, in the calendar since 1950)
- Following one week of rest, Formula 1 is back on track this weekend in Silverstone for the first of the two events scheduled this season at the legendary British circuit.
- The Northamptonshire track is the place where Carlos Sainz drove his very first Formula 1 car. It was during the young driver tests on the 18th and 19th July 2013.
- His best result came in 2019, when he finished the race in sixth place after starting from the thirteenth spot of the grid.
"Silverstone is very different to the Red Bull Ring and the Hungaroring, so by the end of the weekend we will have a much clearer picture of how competitive our car really is. Our forecast says the we should be more competitive than in Hungary, although we don’t know if we will be as fast as in Austria. We will introduce a few aerodynamical upgrades this Friday, so it will be important to make the most of every minute on track to assess their performance and check whether they improve the MCL35. This is our home race, so it is really special for the whole team. Normally the personnel of the team would bring their families to the grandstands, but sadly that is not possible in the current context. We will try to put on a good show anyway".
