Austrian GP, 3-5th July 2020
- Red Bull Ring (4,318 metres, 10 corners, in the calendar since 1997)
- Carlos has scored points in two of his five visits to the circuit.
- Best result: P8 in 2016 and 2019
- Comeback drive in 2019: from P19 to P8
The Austrian GP is the starting point to an unusual World Championship, one that was compromised by the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced the cancellation of the Australian GP and the restructuration of the calendar. The event itself is held behind closed doors and under a comprehensive safety protocol, including regular medical checks on drivers and the personal in the paddock.
"I am impressed by all the work that Formula One, FIA and the Red Bull Ring have done to ensure our safety. We are sticking to the safety procedures. The team is in very good spirits and we are ready to tackle the start of a new season. We are aware of the fact that the fight for the P4 we secured in last years’ Constructors Championship will be tough. We think some rival cars are good, but our pre-season was positive and we have to see our true speed and keep on working to make sure that we are up there again this season".
