Three races to go for the spaniard
Ciudad de México, October 25th 2018.- Carlos Sainz has arrived at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, home this weekend to the 2018 Formula One Mexican Grand Prix. The Spaniard has landed in the capital of the country four days after his excellent seventh place at the United States GP.
The Mexican GP has become an outstanding event in the calendar thanks to the passion of the local fans, whose energy has been crucial in transforming this race into a colourful celebration since its return to the Championship back in 2015.
Carlos Sainz is looking forward to a good weekend in Mexico, despite the fact that this is one of the highest circuits in the series. Built at an altitude of 2.200 metres, its track is 4.304 meters long and has 17 corners in total. It combines twisty sections such as the Foro Sol or the Hairpin with a 1.200-metres straight where cars break the 360 kilometre/hour mark.
Tyres available for the weekend are the supersoft, the ultrasoft and the hypersoft. Carlos will have two sets of the red one, one of the purple and ten of the pink, which is set to be a prominent star both in Qualifying and in the race itself.
As in every Thursday, the Spaniard answered the questions of the media. This time, he received an invitation to take part in the FIA Press Conference.
"I think that in Mexico it is also possible to score points with both cars. There are many slow corners here, which may present some good opportunities. In order to seize them, we will have to keep the same focus we had in Austin. We will go for it".
"The team changed its approach some races ago and I think that the United States race was an example of some very solid team-work. We need it in order to maintain the fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship".
The Mexican GP will start on Friday with the first two Free Practice sessions, which will begin at 10:00 and 14:00 local time, 17:00 and 21:00 CEST time. As always, you can get the latest news on Carlos via his social media channels and his official website www.carlossainz.es.
