Abu Dhabi GP - 11-13 December 2020
Yas Marina Circuit (5,554 metres, 21 corners, in the calendar since 2009)
- Carlos Sainz' presence in McLaren ends in Abu Dhabi after two full seasons and his two maiden podiums in Formula 1
- It will be an emotive weekend, but the Spaniard doesn't lose sight of the fact that there are still important points at stake that could play a decisive role in the Drivers' and the Constructors' Championships.
"Abu Dhabi will be an emotive weekend for me, because it is my final race with McLaren. I have learnt a lot of things over these two years. This team has helped me to reach my better self. This two seasons have been my best years so far in Formula 1 and I am very proud of what we have achieved. I hope we finish our relationship with a good result. Abu Dhabi will be a similar race to the ones we have seen so far. The goal is to qualify within the Top 8 and to fight for points that maximize my options in the Championship and McLaren's in the Constructors'. The ultimate goal is the third place in the standings, even though we know we will have to put together a perfect performance and to seize all the opportunities that come in our way to close the current gap to our rivals".
